About the Font
The typeface Brutneuve emerged from a reinterpretation of Villeneuve, a typeface by Manuel Pereira da Silva.
The result is a high-contrast serif typeface with variable weight and serifs, which also includes a sans-serif version.
Maria Craveiro, Olga Marinho, and Sofia Paiva completed their bachelor's degree in Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto in the academic year 2024/2025.
Despite having different areas of interest, they share a common passion for typography. It was in this context that they collaboratively developed the Brutneuve typeface, as part of the Type Design course taught by Professor Pedro Amado.
